Los Cabos is an absolutely stunning confluence of desert, mountains, and ocean. Although Los Cabos has a great nightlife and a vibrant stretch of resorts, we were looking for an upscale, private, and adult-only retreat. That made the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort the perfect choice for our getaway.
Located just 15 minutes from the restaurants of Cabo San Lucas and Cabo San Lucas Marina (great for whale watching) and less than 45 minutes from the airport by private SUV (thanks, Olympus Tours and our driver Rosendo!), the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort sits on a private beach inside the ultra-exclusive Quivira Los Cabos residential development.
The views as you descend towards the resort from the cliffs above is nothing short of spectacular with perfect, golden light, beautiful flowers, the incredible Quivira Golf Club anchoring one end, and a gorgeous sandy beach on the other.
Everything about the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort is pure luxury. From the perfectly scented, spa-like lobby, to the welcome cocktail, and the linens, fixtures, furnishings, and soaps, there were no half-measures to be found.
The Pacifica has two pools and we never had trouble finding a lounge chair. One afternoon we even reserved a private cabana on the beach where we enjoyed a private wait-service and our own giant bed right on the beach.
And because we were lucky enough to stay in the Towers at Pacifica, their newest, “resort within a resort”, we had access to the private VIP lounge with fresh food, drinks, and an ocean-front deck, the amazing new fitness center (you will never work out with better views), and of course, our own personal butler(!), Yomali who was there with a smile to help us with anything we needed from reservations for dinner and the private cabana, to information about the area, and even to unpack. She even helped me surprise my wife with ice cream by the pool! [Editor’s Note: this sounds incredible].
As an all-inclusive property, the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica makes it easy for you to do nothing but enjoy your stay while eating to your heart’s content. We started most days with complimentary room service and a breakfast of french toast, chilaquiles, fresh fruit, pastries, and coffee so we could enjoy our private balcony. For lunch, we’d go to the palm-shaded table of Aire to get tacos, ceviche, and handmade, craft margaritas. And for dinner, our favorite meal was fresh,hand-rolled sushi from Pescados, but we also enjoyed great dinners at both Siempre and fresh fish and organic produce from their newest restaurant, Peninsula.
Although we chose to stay exclusively at the Pacifica, we also had access to the Market at Quivira (a unique food hall) and all of the Pueblo Bonito sister-properties, too!
I’ve been lucky to see a lot of beautiful sunsets and play some amazing golf courses, but never have I experienced such an amazing combination of the two as I did at Quivira Golf Club. Standing on the 14th tee as the sunset was an experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life. The combination of cliff-side holes, ocean views, and desert beauty can’t be overstated.
Simply put, if you love golf, you have to get on this course. Quick tip: this Jack Nicklaus-designed, ocean front club is only open to Quivira residents and Pueblo Bonito guests so choose your accommodations wisely.
