If you’re looking to spoil yourself with a chic and contemporary haven on your next trip to Cancun, you’ll definitely want to check out Secrets The Vine. It’s a stunning and elegant, all-inclusive, beachfront resort for adults only, highlighted by flawless accommodations complete with Italian porcelain floors, teak wood furnishings, and sleek private balconies. I had the pleasure of staying there recently with my husband and wanted to share a few insider tips from the trip.
This is a no-brainer at Secrets The Vine because EVERY room has a view of the Caribbean – either an ocean view or oceanfront view with sleek balconies, allowing you to take in stunning views. Rooms are overly spacious, too, ranging from 475 square feet to a luxurious 1,324 square feet.
With eight restaurants to choose from, as well as 24-hour snacks, you’ll never go hungry. I particularly liked the Sea Salt Grill, overlooking the pool and ocean. After our meal, the waiter came by with shots of tequila, which was fun. The Asian restaurant was exceptional, as well. But what I really liked, compared to many other all-inclusive resorts, is that we didn’t need to make reservations at ANY of the restaurants. I love that! Insider Tip: For an additional charge, you can have a romantic dinner for two on the beach. My husband and I did it, and frankly, I don’t think it was worth it. Plus, if the weather is uncooperative, you’ll be dining in the restaurant along with everyone else.
On the flip side, we thought that upgrading to the Preferred Club was totally worth it. Check-in and check-out is faster; your room will be in a better location; there’s a private lounge with continental breakfast, afternoon appetizers, and cocktails; and the best thing — you get exclusive access to the Preferred Club pool, which had more available seating/lounge chairs than the regular pool.
This was my first visit to Cancun. I’ve been fortunate to have visited Riviera Maya, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Ixtapa in the past and frankly, I didn’t think I’d like Cancun, but I loved it! You can get a real “take me away Calgon” experience at Secrets The Vine, which is refined, luxurious, and adults only. Later you can head into the center of Cancun for a night of fun a Coco Bongo. Plus, from the airport to the hotel is a quick 20-minute ride away.
